America Will Have

I am in no way affiliated with the organizers of No Kings; these are my personal views and calls to action.

The “No Kings” Protest

“No thrones, no crowns, no kings.” This slogan captures the core of the No Kings movement, a nationwide protest rejecting what many see as creeping authoritarianism within the Trump administration. On June 14, 2025, over 2,100 cities in all 50 U.S. states—including U.S. territories—joined together in the first “No Kings Day,” coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and President Trump’s 79th birthday. Organizers estimate that more than five million people participated, turning out in major cities and small towns alike.

These protests were spurred by concerns around:

  • Military spectacle and symbolism: Many saw the planned parade, full of tanks, troops, and military fanfare, as more than a celebration; it was viewed as a display of power that evoked monarchical or authoritarian imagery.

  • Erosion of democratic norms: Concerns over court-defiance, executive overreach, suppression of dissent, and immigration enforcement policies seen by critics as heavy-handed.

  • Militarization, political polarization, and civil liberties: Protesters voiced fears that the government was using military or security apparatus unnecessarily, especially in response to protests themselves, and that the rights of citizens were being compromised.

A second nationwide protest is scheduled for October 14, 2025. As the administration has, in many eyes, doubled down on controversial policies—over immigration, surveillance, court clashes, and symbolic displays of power—No Kings supporters are organizing again to reaffirm that democracy, civil liberties, and accountability must remain central.

I urge those who can to attend a local event. Educate yourself, know your rights as a protester. There will be no violence, just peaceful rebellion against America’s growing tyranny.
